Responses to our podcasting activity on Feb 26th in St Louis:
- podcasting tips were included
- good for classroom projects
- good way to publish things that
are accessible
- showed importance of collaboration
(content, voice and equipment)
- liked the process: real message
was embedded in the entertainment
(showed what was important)
- Time factor: Could do it with the
faculty but they might just tell the
kids
- can create running record of
reading, voices, perceptions
- lots of times creative kids don't
have appropriate outlets
- kids listen to 'The Shadow' and
make their own radio show
- often we train the creativity out
of our kids
- ref to Ken Robinson's TED talk
http://www.ted.com/tedtalks/tedtalks
player.cfm?key=ken_robinson
- can apply to all content areas
- empowers kids
- good to define ideas within a
context
- can work with differentiated
learning, small groups
- good to introduce with an activity
(not just telling)
- working together and team-building
is an important skills
