Goals
- Understand Change in Context: Reflect on and better understand the implications of rapid, discontinuous change and ubiquitous access to the world stage for 21st century learning

Guiding Philosophies
- 80/20: 80 percent of our learning time should be spent in conversations, hands-on activities, and interaction. 20 percent of our learning time (or less) should be spent passively listening to lecture (otherwise we sit, get and forget)
- 21st Century Skill Focus: Students and our society need more than a learning focus on test prep and test passing (invitation to use a different lens) - Partnership for 21st Century Skills framework, Enguage Executive Summary
- 2001 Revision of Bloom's Taxonomy: Elevating discourse to promote critical thinking skills
 - Habits of Mind: It is not enough to learn facts, we must help our students and fellow educators cultivate our thinking skills
- Good Leadership Matters: It's easy to teach or lead poorly. Inspired, visionary and passionate leadership makes a difference.
